FOSSEE Semester Long Internship 2022

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and travel restrictions placed by IIT Bombay, the FOSSEE Semester Long Internship 2022 will be offered remotely. The FOSSEE team will contact the selected candidates through emails soon.

Internship title: Creation of Concept Maps

Qualification of the Applicants: BSc (Any year,  with Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry as one of the subjects) or MSc (1year or final year, Chemistry, Biochemistry/Biology),  Candidates who have completed BSc or MSc may also apply.

It is mandatory for a candidate to complete the screening task to be eligible for the fellowship.

Screening Tasks:

Learn Freeplane software, to create concept maps. Tutorials are available on the Spoken Tutorial website for Freeplane. https://spoken-tutorial.org/tutorial-search/?search_foss=Freeplane&search_language=English

Screening task: Create a concept map for any 1 or 2 of the topics below.

  • Chemical kinetics
  • Thermodynamics
  • Heat transfer
  • Cell structure and organelle functions
  • Oxygen binding to haemoglobin
  • Human physiology/anatomy (pick from the respiratory, digestive, excretory system or hormones and signalling)
  • Phase rule and partition coefficient

Technical Requirements: Knowledge of subject matter and using Freeplane to create a concept map

  1. Register and create an account on this website (https://soul.fossee.in/).
  2. Go through the procedure for submitting and read the submission guidelines.
  3. Propose a project keeping in mind that it is in the concept maps
  4. After approval of the proposal, complete the project.
